An opportunity to visit the vast interior of a building that was one of the grandest vestry halls in London and the only larger music hall auditorium in Shoreditch. You will visit the Victorian Council Chamber, Committee Rooms and The Ditch, a warren of atmospheric basement rooms that have been left untouched. As well as enjoying the wonderful building, you will hear about the ambitious and progressive energy policies of the former Shoreditch Council, the notorious boxing matches in the Assembly Hall and the events leading up to a community-led renovation in 1997 and the building's recent establishment as a vibrant arts and events space.
