This Guided Walk with Sue McCarthy follows a wonderfully varied section of the Capital Ring circuit of London including great views of the Olympic Park and London Stadium, home of the Olympics and West Ham FC, on a route taking you alongside the River Lea Navigation past the old Lock Keeper's Cottage to join the River Lea then along the top of one of the original London sewers built by the great engineer Joseph Bazalgette passing the beautiful pumping station that he designed at Abbey Mills before reaching part of London's flood defence system, the Barking Creek Floor Barrier, and finishing with an interesting tree trail. The walk is mainly level on surfaced paths but includes a few fairly steep slopes.
